Abstract:

As previously foreshadowed, further instalments of regulations would be necessary to give effect to the Government’s superannuation co-contribution for low income earners.

This instalment contains proposed amendments to the Superannuation (Government Co-contribution for Low Income Earners) Regulations 2004 and an amendment to correct a technical deficiency in the Superannuation Industry (Supervision) Regulations 1994.

Explanatory material for these regulations is also included.

Comments on the draft regulations are invited from all interested parties. Written submissions will be accepted up until 19 May 2004 and should be forwarded to superannuation@treasury.gov.au.
