Abstract:

The Superannuation (Financial Assistance Funding) Levy Act 1993 (Levy Act) provides that regulations may impose a levy to recoup financial assistance granted by the Commonwealth under Part 23 of the Superannuation Industry (Supervision) Act 1993 (SIS Act).

These proposed regulations are intended to recoup the value of financial assistance granted under Part 23 in the 2002-03 and 2003-04 financial years, as well as the outstanding shortfall in levy collections in 2003.
