Australia-San Marino Tax Information Exchange Agreement

Abstract:

The Governments of Australia and San Marino have signed an Agreement for the Exchange of Information Relating to Taxes. The Agreement provides for exchange of information on request in both criminal and civil tax matters.

The Agreement was signed by the Australian Ambassador to Italy Amanda Vanstone, and San Marino’s Foreign Minister, Antonella Mularoni, in San Marino on 5 March 2010.

The Agreements will enter into force after Australia and San Marino have advised that they have completed their respective domestic requirements. Legislation for this purpose will be introduced into the Australian Parliament as soon as practicable.

The signing of these Agreements was announced by the Assistant Treasurer, the Hon Nick Sherry, in Media Release No. 036 of 2010.
