Australia and Montserrat Tax Information Exchange Agreement

Abstract:

The Governments of Australia and Montserrat have signed an Agreement on the Exchange of Information with Respect to Taxes. The Agreement provides for exchange of information on request in both criminal and civil tax matters.

The signing took place on 23 November 2010 in London by the Montserrat Chief Minister Mr Reuben T Meade and Australia's High Commissioner to the United Kingdom Mr John Dauth LVO.

The Agreement will enter into force after Australia and Montserrat have completed their respective domestic requirements.

The signing of this Agreement was announced by the Assistant Treasurer, the Hon Bill Shorten in Media Release No. 022 of 2010.
