Abstract:

The draft regulations amend the Corporations Regulations 2001 in order to progress a number of financial services reforms announced in the Parliamentary Secretary to the Treasurer’s press release of 14 August 2006.

The amendments seek to minimise regulatory burden in the provision of financial services through such things as changes to aspects of disclosure and investor retail/wholesale status. The regulations also make several other amendments drafted in response to market developments and a series of amendments to correct errors or anomalies in the current Corporations Regulations 2001.

The Government invites interested parties to comment on the draft regulations. Submissions may be lodged electronically, by post or facsimile. Please direct submissions to:
