Proposed Amendments for the GST Treatment of Long-Term Non Reviewable Contracts

Abstract:

On 21 November 2003, the Government announced its intention to legislate to deal with the application of GST to long-term non-reviewable contracts that remain GST-free at 30 June 2005. The Government has released draft legislation and requests interested parties to comment.

Treasury seeks written comments on the compliance impact of the legislation, if enacted in its present form.

Treasury is also seeking expressions of interest from organizations or bodies that wish to be included in the regulations as potential arbitrators.
