Exposure Draft Bill for Consultation – Federal Magistrates Court Legislation Amendment Bill 2004

Abstract:

The purpose of the Bill is to expand the jurisdiction of the Federal Magistrates Court in the areas of consumer protection matters in relation to financial services under the Australian Securities and Investments Commission Act, trade practices (unfair practices, product safety and product information, and manufacturers’ liability) under the Trade Practices Act and corporate insolvency under the Corporations Act.

Comments on the exposure draft Bill (Jurisdiction of the Federal Magistrates Court Legislation Amendment Bill 2004) are requested from the public.
